About this Course

PLANET 7 REGISTRATION BEGINS AT 8AM ON TUESDAY, 3/25 Planet 7 aims to socially and emotionally prepare incoming 7th graders for junior high. All 7th graders entering WDMCS in Fall 2025 can register for one Planet 7 session at their future junior high school. Give your child the chance to preview junior high with the Planet 7 program, an opportunity for incoming 7th graders at Stilwell and Indian Hills Junior Highs to make friends and feel prepared before starting junior high. Program Highlights • Discussions about "Life in 7th Grade" with students from Valley High School who attended junior high there. • The WDM and Polk Co. Diversity, Equity and Inclusion offices focus on developing students' individual skills in areas such as belonging, identity, self-awareness, and social awareness. • The West Des Moines and Clive Police Departments hold discussions on peer pressure, social media, and drugs and alcohol. • Team and confidence building activities with Community Youth Concepts. • Opportunities for students to get acquainted with the school.
